What are the 6 Thinking Hats?
The 6 Thinking Hats were created by Edward De Bono, an expert in critical thinking skills. He came up with the ‘6 thinking hats’ approach to help people make better decisions by pushing them to think outside their normal way of thinking. In a way, it’s a play on the idea that students can ‘put on their thinking hats’, with each hat representing a different kind of thinking.
- The White Hat: Facts and Information.
- The Red Hat: Feelings and Emotions.
- The Black Hat: Caution.
- The Yellow Hat: Positives.
- The Green Hat: Creativity.
- The Blue Hat: Thinking.
